Tosin Lee, OTR

Founder

Tosin Lee is an occupational therapist and the founder of Melanin Minds Matter. She completed her Bachelors in Health Science and Master’s Degree in Occupational both at the University of Florida. She was born and raised in Florida and moved to Houston in 2015 to pursue her career as an Occupational Therapist., including addressing compounding mental health concerns with her patients.

In 2018, Tosin created Melanin Minds Matter however her passion for mental health started several years earlier due to her own personal experiences and challenges growing up. She understands the relationship between mentally healthy children and academic success, relationship building and personal fulfillment. ​

As a minority woman herself and mother to three black children, she understands that there is a lack of mental health resources for brown and black girls across the board. Tosin has experience with working with the mental health population in specialized units in addition to working with the youth throughout her career. This experience has prepared her to provide a mental health & wellness program that offers a safe space.

 
 
 
 

Jeorgia' Brown, CPA

CFO

Jeorgia (Jor-jay) Brown brings over 15 years of experience leading financial operations across a variety of industries. She excels in establishing financial policies, developing budgets, and analyzing key performance indicators to drive financial stability and growth.

Before founding her own firm, Powerhouse CFO, she held key financial leadership roles, including Assistant Corporate Ownership Controller at Highgate Hotels, Accounting Manager at Greystar, and multiple financial management positions at Enterprise Leasing.

Jeorgia is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Fractional CFO, deeply committed to financial literacy and mental health advocacy. Since 2019, she has been dedicated to teaching financial literacy, investing, and entrepreneurship to children through local programs, preparing the next generation to manage their finances confidently. In 2024, she joined the board of Melanin Minds Matter as CFO, continuing her mission to make financial resources and mental health support accessible to all.

 
 

Joycelyn Williams

CMO

Joycelyn is a dynamic leader with over 15 years of experience in sales, business development, and strategic marketing.  As Chief Marketing Officer and a board member of Melanin Minds Matter, she is dedicated to fostering mental health awareness and empowerment within underrepresented communities.  Passionate about creating impactful campaigns and fostering meaningful connections, Joycelyn works to amplify the voices of those often overlooked, ensuring mental health resources and support reach everyone who needs them.

In addition to her work with Melanin Minds Matter, Joycelyn has been instrumental in the post-acute healthcare industry.  As the Vice President of Business Development for Paradigm Healthcare, she played a key role in driving growth, managing referral networks, and forging strategic partnerships across the organization’s portfolio.  With a proven track record in market expansion and leadership, she led a team of top-tier sales professionals committed to enhancing patient care and exceeding business objectives.

Known for her strategic vision, industry expertise, and commitment to excellence, Joycelyn continues to make a lasting impact both in healthcare and in mental health advocacy, positioning organizations for innovation and success.
